My first artist in residency experience took place in El Bruc Spain at the foothills of Montserrat that is about 40 miles northwest of Barcelona. Geoff my husbands application was accepted too and we had a blast! The region and people inspired our work. Along with Gemma from the states, Helen, Andrew & Amanda from Australia, Vikram from India, Ariel from France and Roya from Iran/Pittsburg, we created and explored the mountains, city of Barcelona and sea by Sitges.
The mountains were unlike any I had seen before
The sea by Sitges, only a 20 min train ride from Barcelona, and Helen who writes children’s poetry inspired me to write this book and donate it to the local school.
