With four grass studies to frame today, the 25 small works will be complete! The process has led me to new thinking about content, palette and composition. The points Elkins makes in observing man made objects and natural objects to consider the history, funtion, materials yielded new perspectives in my mind. So in the process of creating with my push to find growth in my work, I would ask myself :
- Content “What is the essence of this object?”
- Palette “What colors beyond the obvious could be found?”
- Composition “How does my work appear within a matrix?” “What could I edit in the future?”
