Using the geometrical patterns of the masters to study the  my paintings has been helpful in composition, palette and content. In my recent works of grass lawns in slide show below, I used memory from my own visits along the east coast while observing Diebenkorns “Ocean Park” series.  I see from applying the geometric matrix on top there are opportunities to line up horizon lines or sections of land,  create a shift in color within fields and consider additional content.  I am very much looking forward to taking these small studies to a larger scale.
